Meet our people

Gary Humphreys
Dip. Arch

Director in charge of our Milton Keynes and Reading offices, Gary has been with The Harris Group since 1996 and a Director since 1999.

Gary enjoys spending quality time with the family in his free time.

Sarah Charlesworth

Leading the HPM team in the Wakefield office, Sarah is a chartered member of RICS and holds full membership with APM and APS. She has been with The Harris Group since 2001 and is actively involved with the contractual and quality management of the five offices of the business to help direct and grow the company in a structured way.

She started out in the construction industry in 1997 at the CITB National Construction College in Norfolk, gaining practical hands-on experience and academic knowledge through the course and various work placements in civil engineering, quantity surveying and building surveying. Sarah has completed a degree in Architecture and Masters Degree in Project Management.

Fell running, road running, spinning, socialising and being a Mum takes up Sarah’s free time so when she’s not working hard, she’s playing hard.

Stephen Innes
Technical Director

Leading the Reading Office HPM team, Stephen joined the Harris Group in 2005 to set up the Reading Office. Trained as a quantity surveyor, over the years he has undertaken numerous Project Management and Contract Administration roles in various sectors.

Stephen has worked in Local Authority, spent time managing an office in the Middle East for a large international consultancy, before working in London in a practice specialising in office development.

Finally settling in Reading working for a practice dealing with various retail clients, in particular Wickes Properties, involved in their expansion programme over many years.

On moving to HPM, his work with Wickes continued for a number of years along with a major store extension programme for Aldi in the South East. Now also heavily involved in the new Aldi store expansion programme for a new region in South East, which is currently being developed.

Mark Hendy

Mark is a motivated, friendly, proactive Project Manager and Principal Designer with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Decisive, highly adaptable to change and embracing new ideas and challenges, Mark is a specialist IIRSM member and an incorporated APS member. Mark has been working in the construction industry since 2004 and is currently working towards NEBOSH certification and RICS chartership to further his professional accreditation.

In his free time Mark enjoys off-roading on his mountain bike and celebrating these efforts with a drink in the local.

Joe Pickering

Joe carries out Principal Designer and CDM advisory roles working from the Newport Pagnell office. With over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry he has a vast amount of working knowledge having been involved on a wide range of varied projects. He has been involved in the CDM Regulations since inception in 1994. This experience is supported with relevant qualifications and accreditations including an HND in Building Studies, an Honours Degree in Building Surveying and NEBOSH General, Construction and Fire Safety and Management certification.

In his spare time, Joe likes to spend time relaxing with his family and particularly enjoys summer evenings out on the patio cooking and eating great food topped off with a beer in the outside bar.

Marisa Rigby

Marisa is a positive, friendly and helpful CDM Adviser and Principal Designer working from the Wakefield and Manchester offices. Marisa has worked in the construction industry since 2015 and has since gained her NEBOSH General and Construction certification, Tech IOSH and AaPS memberships and is currently undertaking a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety. Marisa provides CDM Adviser and Principal Designer services for many projects from small refurbishments to large developments and is continuously providing our valued Clients with the help and advice they require.


In her spare time, she loves anything outdoors such as going on hikes and on camping trips all over the country and loves to socialise to meet new people.

Mark Lambourne

Mark is an extremely knowledgeable and personable CDM Adviser and Principal Designer working from the Reading office and has experience across all sectors of the construction industry since 2001. Mark holds NEBOSH General and Fire Safety & Risk Management certificates as well as an additional qualification in asbestos surveying.

In his spare time Mark is a keen football and rugby fan.

Alyson Sims

Alyson is a motivated CDM Adviser and Principal Designer working in the Reading office. Alyson holds NEBOSH General and Construction certification and has worked on a variety of projects in different sectors (including English Heritage, education, residential and retail) in the construction industry since 2017.

In her spare time Alyson enjoys walking, gardening, crafts, woodwork and is  keen on recycling/upcycling.

Steve Blackhurst

Steve is a practical and helpful chartered Architectural Technologist and Principal Designer in the Wakefield office. Steve started working in the construction industry in 2007 and trained in CDM Regulations in 2012 who continually updates his knowledge with CPD. Steve holds an HNC in Construction in the Built Environment and runs multiple projects on various sites throughout the country for Magnet, Maritime Transport, MKM Building Supplies and other clients.

In his free time Steve enjoys spending time with his two young children on family days out.


Ebrahim Mayet

Ebrahim is a friendly and experienced architectural technician and assistant project manager working from our Wakefield office. Eby has a BSc in Architectural Technology and is working towards his chartered CIAT membership. He started working in the construction industry in 2016 and has increased his knowledge in many different areas of the industry with his enthusiastic approach to learning.

In his free time, Eby enjoys playing football, socialising with friends and bodybuilding at the gym.

Donna Foster

Donna is an enthusiastic, friendly, organised and efficient administrator for our team who is actively involved with the Principal Designer services provided from our Wakefield office. Donna attended a RIBA Principal Designer course in 2016, passed the APS course on the PD’s role in 2017 and often attends project sites during the construction phase to assist with CDM audits.

Donna is passionate about food. She loves eating out and equally enjoys experimenting with food in the kitchen. She also loves a glass of vino or two!




Danni-Elle Considine

Danni is one of our administrative assistants based in the Reading office who is actively involved in supporting the CDM Principal Designer’s. Danni assists the team with Pre-Construction Information, Construction Phase Plan reviews, submission of F10 notifications and compilation of Health & Safety files and on occasion visits sites to further her understanding of building practices.
